# \_root.function not calling?!

Hi! 🍺

Please, have a look on the following code. As you can see, it defines a function in the main timeline:

```php

function movf(){
    //does something;
}

```

Then I load a movie into that main timeline, and from within that movie i call the function:

```php

mc.onRelease = function(){
    _root.movf();
}

```

But it doesnt work. Why?!
