# 1st of March

Today is the 1st of March and we have a tradition in Romania, about giving a “Martisor” to the ones we care about. The best I can translate “martisor” is “trinket” or “amulet”. But it actually symbolizes a pledge of love and a charm for luck. The white and red are the purity, serenity and love that the beginning of the spring should bring to the ones we love. It comes under different forms, but the white and red string is always present.
