I have been desperate to find how to do this. I have found some answers to this, but nothing I can make work. The main place I have found is ([http://www.actionscripts.org/tutorials/intermediate/FS\_Command\_JavaScript\_Library/index.shtml](http://www.actionscripts.org/tutorials/intermediate/FS_Command_JavaScript_Library/index.shtml)) and it wants to have the html docs as a template for flash. This is just confusing the issue and would rather find an example and don’t mind editing and adding things by hand. I know this is difficult, at least from what I read and I don’t know what I am missing. I assume the java in the html is what is messing me up. If anyone could help, I would appreciate it. I don’t have mx, so I cannot do the local thing, and need a flash 4 or 5 way of doing this. I have found some small ways of java, but I need to instruct the second movie to go to a label depending on what button is pressed in the first movie.

Thanks in advance. I hope someone can help. I have spent 4 days on this.

Sincerely,

Rich

hmm…

I don’t know of a way to do that any more simply than the one provided on that page.

I’d suggest going through their explination again, very slowly. Take it one step at a time.
Test it out again. Keep in mind that some of these functions will only work once you’ve uploaded them to a server. Testing may not be able to be done on a local machine.

If it still doesn’t work. Goto our serverside section and post a question with the title “Javascript, swf to swf communications problem.” include a link to a zip of your FLA and html pages. and the same link to [actionscript.org](http://actionscript.org). I’ll bet that one of our guys can solve your problem.
