I got a question about 2advanced animation if anyone has an idea. If you don’t know, please don’t reply with a smart \*\*\* line. ’

Question:

- In [2advanced.com](http://www.2advanced.com/), how is it that there motion tweens and animations are fast paced, yet so smooth?

- Thanks.

That’s because they’re well timed and carefully set up. Most people just throw effects together having a bunch of stuff play all at once so it’s really processor intensive causing animations to slow down.

2A sets up their animations to play in sequences so that only a set of animations play at any given time, once one set is done, another one starts. This method allows animations to run smoother since they’re not running all at once.

Having a frame rate that high doesn’t necessarily make things faster or smoother, in some cases, it can even make your animations slower and jumpy.

Hey, EG, thanks. But exactly how would I make something like that?

Practice, play around with flash and swift 3d.

I do experiment with flash. I’m not using swift 3d…don’t have it. I just never get any ideas for effects.

Well you don’t necessarily need swif 3d, you can use flash alone, but it does require a lot of experimenting and planning to put something together like what 2A did.

If it was easy, everyone would be doing it.

Yea, but there animation is just like, moving an object one place to another really really really smoothly, thats what I wanna learn. And htey’re like experts at masking…☹

Digital: Not exactly true. Sometimes tweens are better than actionscripted tweening. In the case of 2A animations, tweens are the route to go, more effective, easier, and much more versatile.

And in the end, all it comes down to is practice, experience ,and experimentation. Flash is something you have to work at, not just something you can install and magically be great.
