# %2D replaces '-'.. what do i do?

I’m trying to send a negative value to a text file using loadvars().  
so i did this:

send\_lv.xPos = currObj.\_x;

but if the \_x is negative, the minus is replaced by ‘%2D’  
How do i send the minus sign??
