^ Hmmmā€¦ Umā€¦ Having to pay monthly, contract-bound charges to AT&T, maybe? Besides, I already have a cell phone that does everything I need, mainly being a phone. I want an iPod touch because I want to be able to listen to music and browse the web on demand, and since pretty much everywhere I go has WiFi, I donā€™t see why I would need 3G. ---

subsidizing is up to the carrier, so the prices apple has posted in the store donā€™t have anything to do with subsidizing yet ---

It seems that here in Spain the iPhone 3G will be commercialized only by one companyā€¦ and it will cost: **0ā‚¬**. The best way to hit the 3G market. Heh, itā€™s cool. I guess. I might upgrade if Iā€™m feeling rich after it comes out, but thereā€™s nothing terribly surprising or impressive in it. I was hoping for some GUI features. Anybody know if the new firmware is coming to the old hardware? ---

However, I donā€™t see what all the fuss it about. I agree 3G is great and all, but the only other worthwhile addition I can find is the ā€œrealā€ GPS ability now. Not really a big deal since even a blackberry v1 can do that from 2 years agoā€¦ Plus the fact now theyā€™re making you activate on the spot. Meaning, hacking it is going to that much more pain in the \*\*\*. I still donā€™t see many 3rd party apps yet, other than a few games, and (that cool) Slingbox prototype appā€¦oh, and that navigation app as well. ---
