Corporate “we’re a media company now” announcements always read like they want the cool-kid aura without doing the boring part: showing up every week and earning an audience for years. You can’t just slap a studio logo on it and expect people to care.

The OSS burnout interview hit way harder. Once a project gets big, the maintainer quietly becomes product manager + support desk + conflict mediator, except the paycheck is “thanks” and a pile of GitHub notifications.
