That “entry-level headcount rose 12%” stat is doing a lot of work, because “entry-level” can mean anything from legit junior devs to support/content ops roles that got rebranded once AI showed up.
I can totally see companies hiring more juniors while the job quietly shifts from “build the thing” to “babysit the thing” — stitching prompts, cleaning up AI output, writing tests, doing QA, and handling the last 20% that’s still weirdly human. I’m not sure that’s good or bad yet, but it’s definitely not the same first job I had.
