When using DirectX, all I can retrieve is relative mouse coordinates, like that the mouse moved up 2 or down 2. Unfortunately, however, because the mouse changes seem to not precisely reflect mouse movements, the absolute position of the mouse is totally out of whack.

How have you guys been able to keep track of the mouse in DirectX?
