# Absolute Processor Power

Where can I go to determine a processor’s absolute processing power? Since all companies and different models have their own unrelated GHz number, you can’t really compare one to another. For example, a 1.5 GHz Pentium M does not equal a 1.5 GHz Pentium IV, which also does not equal a 1.5 GHz Athlon 64. I just want some site with a standarized absolute power rating.

If there was some site with ratings for video cards, that would be good too. I just don’t want to randomly choose processors, video cards, and sound cards for my next PC.
