Hi,

I want to build a simple custom web form that can accept credit cards online(just the major CCs is okay for now).

So I found out I needed a merchant bank account. So I went to Bank of America and told them I needed a merchant account to accept online payments. BofA told me that I needed the sacred “fictitious business name” in order to open the merchant bank acount. So I got the business name and opened a special bank account for accepting online payments.

Then I chose [authorize.net](http://authorize.net). I am having trouble understanding what fees I need to pay for. When going through [authorize.net](http://authorize.net) they want me to open a “payment gateway” account and a “merchant” account. Is this [authorize.net](http://authorize.net) merchant account different from my bank of america merchant account?

What’s the best way to go between [authorize.net](http://authorize.net) and BofA for accepting basic Credit card payemnts online?

Anyone know the basic overall flow of online cc processing?
