# Adding buttons that open nested movieclips

I have downloaded a liquid layout template.  
All the movieclips are nested with the actionscript saved in a seperate file so the stage is empty. As I am new to as3 I don’t know how to add buttons to the library which then open other nested movieclips. I have looked at various tutorials but none cover exactly this issue.

Here is the link with the file for download, could someone please explain or point me to a good tutorial that covers how to do this that would be much appreciated.
