# Adding Gradient Fills to Text Characters

Hi there  
You know how you can create a circle, fill it with a colour and then with the gradient tool, you can create a radial fill effect?

Is this possible to do with Characters? I have a letter I would like to to a linear and/or radial gradient fill to but have no clue where to begin.
