# Adding pictures

how can i add a picture and avoid the loading process that it takes. i am having a rally big problem with this because i am making a portfolio type of thing.

load a picture 1 px by 1px… I dont think that will take long to load :goatee:

what do you mean exactly?

i have a bunch of pictures that i uploaded to my server. and i want it to load into a empty movie clip. but there is a large loading process. would it be better to have it pop up in a html window?=)

either way you look at it, if the people viewing your site are going to want to see the picture, they are going to have to load it into their browser (or flash) Theres no way around that. What you can do is make your images smaller… smaller in size in both dimensions and (and therefore) file size.

what you want is a flash file that will import your jpg’s from your site without actually being in the clip…

i think you should look at this tutorial (just look at the code, i find the movie a bit confusing - doesnt load right) [http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/photogallery.htm](http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/photogallery.htm)  
i think thats what your looking for… im havin the same type of problem, except i’d like to handle it with MySQL/PHP - but good it’s complicated…

i think ill stick to flash
