I keep wondering if AI is making us faster in the dumbest possible way. Like, you ship more, but you also review less, remember less, and trust your first pass way too much.

Has anyone tried turning it off for a week and noticed what comes back? I’m curious if juniors are actually learning, or just getting very good at asking for a passable answer.

“review less” is the part that sticks in my throat too — speed is fine, but unexamined speed just means you’re shipping your first draft.

I haven’t done a full week off yet, but even a day without it makes me notice how much I’d stopped rereading my own work.
