Not sure if this has been posted but I found this yesterday (7/27).

According to the site: “AnimationPackage is an ActionScript 2.0 library compatible to Flash Player 6 and above. It helps you to create powerful, maintainable animations in an efficient and easy way, resulting in small file sizes.”

Developed by Alex Uhlmann, a student, he has provided source code, documentation, and a tutorial with examples.
