# Another wonderful Flash MX issue

Man, today just isn’t my day…

For some reason my text doesn’t want to load dynamically. I even went ot the extent of coping the source from the example in the tutorial section.

Oh, also here is the .txt file that I’m trying to include

Hi there!

On your text file, in the first line, change ‘kirupatext=’ to ‘scroller=’; I used that tut in one of my sites and had to change all of them to different names.

I read your post from before. I like your rollOver effects on the buttons! Where did you get that component?

Ok I fixed the txt file but it still doesn’t work. Reload the text file and it still won’t work.

Be careful with your cache. Check the AS trick or the Best Of Kirupa, the “Tricks of the Trade” thread. Not sure it’s the answer thought, I can’t have a look at your files :-\

I was wrong- I’m sorry. Change ‘scroller=’ back to ‘kirupatext=’ in your text file!! My bad!! I actually changed every instance name in mine.

Your problem is very simple. I found it after about a half an hour of banging my head against the keyboard.

Select the properties on your dynamic text box and choose a different color than white! It’ll work perfectly. Hmm. Ha ha ha!!

There ya go.

One more thing:

Your scrollbar doesn’t seem to have been dropped on the text box after you gave it an instance name. You must go to the ‘parameters’ of the scrollbar itself. That’s under the properties panel. Change the Target TextField to ‘scroller’ so that everything matches.
