Anthropic is expanding hard in London, leasing a new office that could grow its local team from 200 to about 800 as pressure from the US government keeps building.

London scaling is as much about regulatory optionality and talent density as it is about office space, and it also reduces single-jurisdiction risk if US policy tightens further. The hard part will be keeping research, safety, and product tightly coupled across time zones so the org doesn’t fragment.
