I haven’t heard any first-hand thoughts other than what Dreamhost has put out. Is it as reliable and scalable as a dedicated server (from say… RackSpace) would be?

I’m in the process of developing a webapp but I want to be sure it will scale well. I can’t justify getting a dedicated server before I even launch, but I’m worried about being able to scale gracefully. I am hoping for viral growth… so I’m wondering if DreamhotPS will be able to handle a big load.

I’m running a cheap Dreamhost account that I’m really happy with right now, and everything is all setup and working well. And I like that they handle all the maintenance and backups and stuff. Takes a lot of the load off my back because I only have to worry about my webapp and not about the servers.

Anyone have any thoughts?
