# Applescript help!

HI
Can some Mac OSX user help me write a simple actionscript to:
1. open a folder
2. open each file in folder
3. print each file
4. close all files
I have done 1. but I don’t know how to do the rest!
tell application “Finder”
open folder “folder1”
end tell

I’m using a program called Mathematica and I have worked on a huge project which I have saved as several files! Now instead of opening each one and printing I wanted a script to do it! ☹

Hmm… Wrong thread to be in but…
I have no clue… Windows man… Windows… Blah to the Macs… Sorry… Off topic but yeah…
Looks like you are on the right way… Just mix it up a little bit and keep trying things.
FSCommand might be what you wnana look at too… I think it has printing commanbds for that?
AM I wrong?

I wish I could help you cookie, but I still haven’t gotten around to learning Applescript. I’m dying to get to it though - I have seen it do amazing things.

Macs are for people who eat granola and wear sandals.
I am PC all the way.
I find it amusing that the only advertising campaign that MAC can come up with, is to trash the competition with ugly, hairy, VW bug driving, bottlecap glass wearing loosers that only talk about how dumb they are, because they cant efficiantly run the windows operating system. Grrrr…

I have respect for the Mac! Use 3ds max on a Mac and then on an average PC. Cuts down rendering and the graphics are amazing, besides that I like my PC. Wouldn’t mind having both! It is fast for games and you never have to worry about locking up, you won’t like it until you own one…enough said!

I wouldn’t mind having both either. I would drool over a mac with OSX (didn’t like whatever OS we had in school, it kept crashing on me…grrr, but OSX is good!).
Mac for my graphics, PC for everything else. Oh what a dream set up that would be 🙂

One thing I dislike about Mac’s, is that one-button mouse 😛
I’d never get used to it =)

Hmm… last I checked two button, and even _gasp_ scroll-buttoned mice (?) worked with my Mac… C:-)

I was a PC user for a very long time, but approx. 2 years ago I switched to MAC and I will never go back! For example, just look at the design of Mac computer compared to PCs. Show me a PC notebook with the same style, and elegance as the new PowerBook:

We ran on a Mac server at school…
Linux is better server material in my opinion too.
And… aren’t Linux servers the leading servers on the market? Everywhere I look they are Linux servers. Never seen a Mac OS X server (except the one at school, but that wasn’t OSX, it was a lower version, and was horrible).

What setup? Apache is in there and it’s all ready to go - just push a couple buttons in settings. It’s no more difficult than trying to set up IIS on Windows - I personally think it’s easier. Didn’t we have this discussion via AIM Dan? 😛
Although I don’t disagree with you on Linux - simply because I personally haven’t tried it yet. Don’t knock it 'til you try it - I used to hate Macs. And even though I don’t exactly have an opinion about Linux, I like that it’s out there. I like the option, an alternative to Windows.
Anyway - why are we talking about this? The guy asked a question about **Applescript**. Cookie - did you check out that link I posted earlier? There’s a guy there, Dave, who seems to know a bit about Applescript. He might have a solution to your problem.
