# \[AS 2.0 MX 2004 PRO\] How do I fix the expected a field name after "." operator

here is the code that I have a problem with:

ln 52 var my\_so:SharedObject = SharedObject.getLocal(“savedText”, “/”);  
ln 53 fn\_txt.text = my\_so.data.fn\_txt;  
ln 54 if(fn\_txt.text == undefined){  
ln 55 fn\_txt.text = “”;  
ln 56 }  
ln 57 fn\_txt.onKillFocus = function(null){  
ln 58 my\_so.data.fn\_txt = fn\_txt.text;  
ln 59 }

The error that appears is:  
**Error** Symbol=slide2, layer=script, frame=1:Line 54: Expected a field name after ‘.’ operator.  
if (fn\_txt.text == undefined) {

Any ideas? I appreciate any assistance that can be given!
