Elo, Just crossed my mind while I was eating bread with **N[color=red]utella[/color]** (yum!) What’s the difference between AS, VB and C++? I am taking Advanced Programming next year (Year9) and we’re gonna be though some basic-intermediate VB…I wanna head towards C++ (Know any site that give the basics for C++?) So…What are the _Major_ diff? Vincenzo 😛 ---

In terms of coding, there are some similarities. But Actionscript is for flash animation and interactivity. Visual Basic is for creating small programmes whether it maybe a global time converter or a encypter for example. C++ is a major language for creating games. If your into programming, since you’ve sauid you want to get into C++ than I suggest you pick Software Design and Development and get real good experience with VB. I dont think you will be learning C++ at school but in Year 11, you can do a tafe course while at school and possibly a career path. ---

C++ is a lot harder than VB. I tryed C++ and quit. Im now doing vb and its great. a lot easier, a lot more fun. actually, i just started learning vb last week. erm ive made one program. its a punter for aim 😃 But C++ is a lot harder imo, vb is, um, more visual? 😛 oh and AS is the devil 😃 ---

C++ is a language for real men 😉 VB is a language for wusses 😃 You might want to learn C first - there are free command line compilers for C and C++ at [http://mingw.org/](http://mingw.org/) 🙂 (my school is still trying to teach my class HTML. don’t worry about getting ahead of the rest, if you find the stuff interesting) ---

Thx fellas! I’ve got a better idea on them. 🙂 My bro’s friend, who’s a very good programmer, said to start learning C++ now so that i’ll sail through in Uni. Know any links for the basics of C++? I’ll google it when i’m free…but any that you recomand? 😉 V i N c 2 ---
