# \[AS2\] Anyway to install files from CD via Flash?

I am making a simple Flash movie and one of the options is to install a wallpaper and buddy icon onto the computer. I am curious if this is even possible through Flash?? Could I make an external link that copies the file to the folder on the computer or even just open the Wallpaper / Appearance application from the Flash movie? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

No luck, huh? Is there maybe a way to use JavaScript or to call another language just to open another application (like an installer) from Flash? I am almost done with the whole piece so I don’t want to scrap the project and start in Director (which I’m beyond rusty in). Thanks for the help!

exe’s can call fscommands and run apps etc… search my name some of the guys pointed me to a tool called flash jester.
only for a pc however.

Wow, $80 to do exactly what I was talking about… well… At least I know it is available and it can be done with JavaScript… Thanks for the info! Cheers!
