# AS3 101... talking to clips

2 functions. putAnim draws something from the library to the stage. This works fine. However when I call the moveAnim function, it fails saying that it cannot reference the properies: 1120 access of undefined property kammy x = 300

Why can the moveThis function not find the kammy object?

```auto

function putAnim() {
   var kammy:kameko = new kameko();
   this.addChild(kammy);
   moveThis();
}
function moveThis() {
    kammy.x = 300;
}

```
