# AS3 Keyboard input help

Hi all, first time posting!

With the KEY\_DOWN event handler, if the user holds the key down it fires the event constantly. I want to create a KEY\_DOWN event which only fires once on the initial key press, even if the user holds the key down.

Can anyone give me any suggestions on how to achieve this?
