# Asign a variable to a TextArea

Hey all you flash people :azn:

I have a problem with this tutorial: [http://www.kirupa.com/developer/actionscript/find\_select\_text.htm](http://www.kirupa.com/developer/actionscript/find_select_text.htm)

As you can see this tut is using a Dynamic Text field, but I want to use the TextArea component in flash.

My question is: How can I asign a variable to the TextArea component, cause without that this tut wont work.

Please help I been trying for days now
