# Audio manipulation

Hey,

I have a very traditional background in programming and one thing I have never really touched (other than playing a premade sound) is audio.  
I would like to mix sounds, play around with sound channels and such [http://www.aviary.com/tools/myna#](http://www.aviary.com/tools/myna#).  
Can anyone show me the right direction, give some links and tutorials maybe.
