I can’t for the life of me figure out what’s going on. I’ve got a movie clip I’m trying to make temporarily invisible. I’ve tried a bunch of different things to do this:

\*\*
onClipEvent (load) {
this.\_alpha = 0;
}
\*\*

I’ve also tried putting similar code in the frame its on. I’ve also tried setting the alpha via Flash itself (rather than actionscript), as demonstrated [in this tutorial](http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/alpha.htm). None of it works. I’m using Flash MX version 6. This is so basic, you’d think I’d be able to do this. Am I missing something?
