I have a movieclip that’s basically a tween of a big box that comes down and covers the entire screen and then goes back up. when the screen is coved i want to change the frame the stage is on. in as2 i did it this way.

fader.play()
fader.dest=“game”

and on the timeline on the fader movieclip somewhere in the middle i would write:

\_parent.gotoAndStop(dest)

I can’t belive as3 is so annoying that I can’t do a simple thing like this. how do I write this?

when i trace fader.dest i get undefined. grrrrrr! so stupid!
