# beginner help

Just started using the javascript book, first exercise I am getting error messages when I try to use the keyword “let” to declare a variable. If i swap the keyword let for var, everything is fine.  
I am using dreanweaver cs6 as a the code editor.  
anyone help

Hi @scimusic - welcome to the forums 🙂

Dreamweaver CS6 may be old enough to not support the `let` keyword. As long as what you are writing works fine in the browser, you can safely ignore that warning.
