ive seen this before but not sure how its done. how does one create a blurred mask?

hm… its not really a ‘blurred mask’, but actually they’d have a picture, and another one, blurred on photoshop or something, on top of it… then they work the mask effects…

hmmm…
I think you misunderstood.
I’ve seen the mask it self blurred, not the image.
I.E.
you know that like key hole mask effect you have seen from time to time. Well, ive see those masks blurred
to give you a better example. im using this effect with the infinite image effect.
So that the scrolling image fades out with the blurred edges. Instead oof a hard one.

maybe i should write the tutorial
im sure it would be VERY helpful for beginners

Ryoga: I believe that is called a vignette or something like that.
I know its not a mask though.
