BMW i Ventures just raised a $300M fund and seems to be leaning hard into agentic AI, physical AI, and industrial software, with the usual manufacturing and supply chain angle in the mix.

“$300M fund” is a serious pile of money, but I’m curious how much of this “agentic/physical AI” push is actually BMW trying to shave down the sensor → decision → actuation loop inside their plants—do they ever say how they’re planning to get these startups through the reality of factory networks and 15-year-old vendor stacks without it turning into a six‑month integration grind? honestly not sure on that bit.
