# Button Activated Hit Counter

Hello all,

I am looking to make a Hit Counter that is activated by a button (or MC) with-in flash. I have tried to modify the hit counter listed here on Kirupa, but to no avail – I’m still pretty much a newbie to PHP and AS. The goal – I want to count how many times an item has been printed out and display the count in the .swf. I have PHP4 and CGI-BIN on my server and would like to be compatible with Flash 5 if possible.
