# Buying a monitor

Hey guys. I’m about to upgrade from my laptop and build myslef a shiny new pc and monitor. I also need a TV and I was wondering what the general concensus was these days about using a tv as a monitor? I know in the past it was always a bad idea and a bit of a bodge, but if I invest in a decent plasma/lcd high def TV (most seem to come with pc ports anyway) would this serve me well? I want a decent monitor anyway as I’m sick of trying to design on a 15 inch laptop where the colours are different depending on the angle you look at it and the max resloution is 1024. Any advice would be marvelous. Yes, marvelous.
