# Buying clothes online?

I don’t know about you, but I’ve always wondered whether its neccessary for me to spend 3 hours on my feet with my mother, my friend, my sister, or [other annoyingly stamina-full woman] walking around a mall to find the few pieces of cloth that I would like to cover my naked self with.
That being said, I wonder how many of you know whether its advisable to shop for clothes online - and if so, what websites make it economically viable or advantageous to do so?
The idea of being able to just pick out my favorite colors and designs online without having to look through racks of racks of stores of stores of clothes is very appealing. I don’t know if it will cost me extra though, nor how much.
Anyone have any experience doing this? I need some new shorts and polos. :party:

Kinda sucks unless you’re one of those people that don’t care if the clothes actually fit you well. It’s a whole debacle of sending stuff back and ordering other cuts/fits.
Just because the arms are the right length dun mean a shirt fits you etc…
Gotta try clothes on man… Just have to. You don’t want to be looking like a schmuck 😉

i find it convenient for tee shirts and such items, you don’t usually get those problems exposed by sekasi.

I buy clothes online all the time mostly my shirts (40-50USD each)… and I can only get the talls online for [AE.com](http://AE.com).
Unlike you though I love to shop I like to walk around the mall to see all the new stuff for each season. Its always cool to see the new styles out. But I’ve got use to most of the brands out there and know if I will like the fabric and texture as it stays throughout the brand. Right now though I only buy from AE and Banana Republic (such great quality at both). Plus they are the only two stores that carry light thin shirts you can wear during the summer and not get hot.
If you find anything online or whats really fun making up outfits that would look nice feel free to link a few and we can crit them :fab:
But yea until you’ve shopped enough you won’t know how each store scales their sizes, so you will have to do it the old fashion way which imo is funner.

Boo ☹ I definetely care about the clothes fitting well, I just thought that since its been around for so long they’d have evolved some sort of efficient method of measurement and things of that nature so that it wouldn’t be a problem.

I mean tshirts sure, but anything above that needs to be tried on and judged by either a gay friend or a woman. Or both. 😛

pomogranate, ouch, thats not even nice, how about just have him walk into spensors and get all his clothes there. Don’t even joke about that type of clothing.
You could also just sit and watch brovo for a few hours (any more and you will become gay/metrosexual).

If you know what size you are buying clothes online is totally fine. Men’s shirts and pants are pretty standard, I mean you can choose size, neck size, etc… and with pants you can choose waist / insteam size, and that’s a fairly solid measurement. I usually go buy clothes in person, but buying them online is fine sometimes too.
Heck, my wife has an uncanny ability to shop for me online and get things that fit me well. It’s not hard.

I bought khaki pants from [Gap.com](http://Gap.com) that they didn’t carry in the stores. 😛
I find most all the fitted dress shirts from Gap are the exact same sizes, just different designs and such. With things like that, it’s pretty safe to buy online if you see a cool pattern. Just buy the same size as the ten others you already own…

Good topic, being a big guy with the need of 36" to 38" length pants I do most of my shooping online at Eddie Bauer. I’m always looking for a place that will custom length my pants.
I also have the problem with shirts not being long enough in the sleeves or length. Stuff in the stores caters to short people, not people over 6 foot. Only thing I can find long enough is jeans and only at JCPenny’s for some reason.

^I don’t know if you wear shorts gary but thats even harder to find. I have to get all my shorts online for the most part. 24" seem is not something one just finds, but I have found quite a few nice pairs.

I’ve had a few bad experiences with buying pants but I find shirts especially work shirts very convenient.
I’m not a typical build so being able to order custom is great.

Yeah those are hard to get to, but I have found if I hit Koehls early enough in the season I have a chance to find ones that fit. Otherwise like you I have to go online. Koehls is the only other place that **sometimes** has things for tall people.

I’m a tall guy too, incidentally. I need 36" jeans which stores rarely carry.
Oddly enough I’ve found that American Eagle ([ae.com](http://ae.com)) always carry 36 of all their jeans, and the low rise bootcut fits me like a glove! 🙂
