# Buying clothes online?

He’s right. Men’s clothes typically run in standard sizes in just about any store. And if you know your size then it should be relatively easy. If you buy from a specific place a lot, just go to their website and order away.
About the extra costs, yes, there are shipping and handling costs and depending on where you are, tax on the clothing. Some sites will waive the s&h charges if you spend a certain amount of money. Usually it’s about $50-$100.

This gave me a chuckle. Mostly because I’m well under 6 feet tall and I can never find pants or capri’s at the right length. I’m only 5’3" and every pair of pants or capris that I buy are too long. Some stores carry short, regular, and long sizes but they still don’t fit right. Short people have lenght issues to! 😛
ETA: Great site Pomogranate… some of those tees are nice. I’m reccomending it to my bro. He loves thats stuff

Okay you guys, this is flat out wrong. (well, it’s right to some extent I guess, but there’s more to it than that)
Where SIZES might be the same (length of arms, width of waist) that doesn’t mean they FIT the same. The ‘better’ shirts include a fair bit of tailoring to ensure it fits you well all around the waist and shoulders, not just droops down like a lumberjack shirt.
To be sure that this particular shirt you’re looking at is tailored to fit YOUR body type you need to try it on.
Sorry, but that’s just the way it is.

^ Most likely they will unless, like you have mentioned, you are buying ‘better’ shirts. If you are attempting to buy a low rise jean or bootcut jean or something for the first time, then your best bet is to try them on. But if you are only buying familiar items you shouldn’t have a problem.
However, I’m lookign at this from a female pov. And I do think that men’s clothes are pretty straight forward as far as consistancy is concerned with sizing and the fit. Unlike woman’s clothes, where as every store has their own sizing and nothing fits the same. :\

It’s not that black and white actually… A men’s shirt for example is generically designed to fit as many body types as possible (to maximize profit) so people with a bit different body types get the shaft. (I’m 6"4 and slim but my shoulders are kinda broad so literally NOTHING fits me unless I target certain brands and try them on first :P)

Funny this thread came up, because I had like 4 shirts and 3 pairs of shorts in my [AE.com](http://AE.com) basket a few days ago because I was too lazy to drive the 25 minutes to AE. But, I decided to not buy it due to the fear of something not fitting and having to send it back, so I just went to the store instead. After I left, I realized almost every size I had chosen online was wrong. So IMO, it’s always better to try it on to see if it fits. Although, now that I KNOW the sizes I need for AE clothes, I’m sure I could shop online for it next time. But if you’ve never bought anything from a certain store before like AE or something, it’s always best to go to the store and try them on. T-shirts on the other hand, just buy it. :thumb2:

AE has a return at store policy i believe. 🙂 Which means if you buy it online you can return it at the store if it doesn’t fit. :fab:
Should of asked, but most places allow for this.

Well I went to the mall yesterday and bought two shirts and two shorts and a jacket from Banana Republic.
40% off the shorts, 40% off the shirts. 20% off the jacket.
One of the shirts, excellent material, came down to like $10. Much better than the prices I would have recieved online.
Oh yeah and 20% off the entire thing for opening a card (which I’ll cancel later :P)

Banana Republic makes the most high quality clothes ever. I own probably a good 13 of their under shirts and they are by far the best things to wear. They are kind of expensive I think like 12USD each but worth every penny (I wear the undershirts every day)…
Vexir you know it looks bad on your credit report to open credit cards and cancel them right?

Heh, yup. Well for one thing its not my card - I turn 18 in October - thus the card was in my mothers name.
Its her credit report, not mine. Additionally, the card won’t be closed quite that quickly. I expect she’ll close it in a couple months. After buying some more things 😉
