# Cache external SWF files for other pages

Ok… I’ve been searching the internet for a few days now and I can’t seem to find a solution to this. I’ve got a page that has a menu containing images. I placed a preloader on the page however my boss doesn’t like it. He want’s it to load as soon as the user clicks on the page. I tried to explain that it takes time to load the menu and without the preloader it won’t show up until it completely loads, but he still doesn’t understand.
I got to thinking, if there’s a way to cache the menu from the home page, then if the user opens the page would the load time decrease? Or would it still pull from the same location? I’m not positive if this would work. I know I can load the file from the page that displays it, but does anyone know if I can cache the swf file for later use on other pages?

The images should be cached? Once first loaded, they should already be significanlty faster from then on without you changing anything…got a link to the site in question so we can see what you mean?

IF you call the swf using the full (absolute) url, it should already be cached
