# Can you animate in Photoshop?

Can you make an animation in photoshop? can someone explain this? and can anyone explain what the slice tool does and how you save a sliced image! i need some photoshop help!

The slice divides the image into pieces. If you use the save for web option under the file menu, it’ll default to saving the image into a html page. The image will appear on the page as a table with the slices filling the appropriate rows and columns.

**To animate in photoshop**
its pretty easy, you basically make animation stills on layers in photoshop and import them into image ready or fireworks and set the layers up as frames as press play.
Say you have a ball, layer 1 it starts on the ground, then layer two its moved up in the air a bit, then layer 3 moved a bit more, then layer 4 moved a bit more, ect…
open image ready. (There is a button on the bottom of the tool bar in photoshop)
Now in image ready, you will have basically have the same layout as photoshop , you have your layers with your objects on each layer, what you need to do is go to Window/ Animation.
Now you will see that you have a frame, but all your contents is on one frame, so you go to the arrow (options) in this palette, And select “Make frames from layer” , now this will make a frame from each layer you have placing your objects in order of your layers.
Press play on the bottom on the animation palette and your set!
:: you can have a play around with Delays in the animation palette found where you see 0 Sec as default Delay. click on that and you can set how many seconds you want that frame to stay on.

You have just shed the light to me! THANK GOD! now i been proggraming in flash and html, and making things in photshop, and not once did i know how to animate or use the slice tool! THAMKS A MILLION

haha lol, there are at least 10,000 tutorials on imageready stuff if you care to search 😉
