My friend and I would like to capture some screens from game consoles (ps2, xbox what have you). How can I go about doing this? I have searched and found that I might need a video card with video in, is that the only way? Anything better (cheaper ;)) If not, what would be recomended?
thanks guys

take your camera and make a foto of your tv screen… it’s the cheapest way 🙂

But if you want the best uber quality you need a video in card.

thanks guys,
we had a camera, but it was fairly cheap and the pics were pretty bad. We will probably pick up a tv card, sometime real soon. BTW… anyone know the legality of using photos like that in, say, a website… ?

Hmm…Dunno about that. I’d think it’s not really illegal, as long as you mention nicely which game and developers it were… But I’m not sure. Where are the copyright specialists here?

I was thinking maybe if it was not for profit. But it would be better if that didn’t matter haha. I had at one point wanted to make a movie review website. I was going to simply scan cover box slips and use them for pics. I wrote some companies about it and they all turned me down. I can’t do that, I think… although I’m not sure… maybe it was that they didn’t care to be involved with what I was doing… ?
