# Changing text colour

Hello.
I’m trying to work out how to change text colour in Flash 4, but nothing I’ve tried will do it.
What I have is some text that the user edits, then a button for the colour. When they hit the button, the text changes colour.
I’ve tried changing the alpha levels and visibility levels of the text boxes, putting masks over the boxes that move into place when the right button is pressed, and a bunch of different approaches.
So far? Zip. Nothing’s worked.
Can anyone tell me how to do this.

in 4 I would have all the text premade for each color and put each in a movieclip on seperate frames, then, go to the frame of the appropriate color.
