# Comms btwn: swf-\>html/asp-\>swf2

Hi folks,

my expanding sphere of knowledge has stalled and I’m just plain blocked.

I’m/ve taking/en a somewhat vanilla home page design (ie buttons on top, content on the right) and am attempting to have flash/AS3 buttons on the top of an ASP page, when clicked, kick-off flash content in the in the content portion of the page (say within a \<div\> or \<td\>).

I’ve done comms page-\>swf – but am blocked on how to have one swf: trigger/set something in its non-swf parent (comms: swf-\>page). Ex// swf1 sets a hidden var in the parent asp _or_ exec some javascript in the parent (or kick-off swf2 directly?). I thought about html \<a href\> but what if swf1 can set more than one setting?

Can anyone enlighten or direct me to a tuto?
