I am building a site that will display many different SWF files stacked in layers that can be turned on and off to display various geological formations and topographical information.

I need to control these layers with a menu that is outside of the main swf movie so that one can zoom in and out without loosing sight of the menu.

My question is, how do I get the buttons in the menu.swf to control the layers loading and unloading in the console.swf.

An example is here [www.zokrocks.com/Beta1](http://www.zokrocks.com/Beta1). The problem with this one is that when you right click and zoom in on the map the buttons go with it. Therefore I need to seperate out the menu from the console but do not know what the proper syntax is for controling what happens in the console with the menu once seperated.

Help Please

PS I am using Flash 8.0
