# Component Tutorial

I think one thing lacking on the site is a Tutorial on building Components in AS 2.0. It would be really helpful if someone could write a tutorial on it and as an example make a simple scroll bar. I have seen a tutorial at [person13.com](http://person13.com) but its not really easy to follow. Anyone up for it? :moustache

not easy to follow??!! of course it’s not easy to follow. components are some of the more complex things to not only modify but create in Flash. most of the grand restructuring between mx and mx 2004 was on components. i suggest going thru that person13 tutorial again as well as going to [ultrashock.com](http://ultrashock.com) --\> tutorials --\> mx2004.
then after you’re done with those go to the [macromedia.com](http://macromedia.com) website and go thru the tutorials on components there.
those are the best tutorials on components out there.

I have one in the works, but there are a lot of other things Im working on too (and no time to work on them)… so, it might be a while.
