Take the CMOS battery out for a while then put it back in. On your motherboard there is what looks like a big watch battery. But please have a pro do it if you do not know what you are doin. You could end up buying a new motherboard. You have to leave it out for a few hours.
Taking the CMOS battery out will not flash your BIOS. That is something all together different. However if you do decide to reset your CMOS, you will want to go through and write down the current settings, just in case they do not auto detect. If you unplug your PC from the wall, you can remove the battery, or set the jumpers (if your main board has them) It only takes 30-45 seconds to reset, it shouldn’t take longer than a minute. Resetting the CMOS may or may not help, its kind of a last ditch effort.
If your Keyboard works in the BIOS screen, then the port on the motherboard is fine. If it was not, then you would get a 301 Keyboard error on the POST screen. Most likely there is an IRQ conflict in your system. You could try removing all non required things from the PC and see if it starts up ok. Or, remove the last thing that was installed before the system went haywire. If that doesn’t help, boot the computer in safe mode, (if it will) and look for a device that conflicts with the IRQ the keyboard is using. (Your keyboard should always use IRQ 1 and no other device should use it) If you find one change it, or remove it.
If none of that works, you could try installing the OS from scratch, but you will lose any data you do not have backed up.

No worries, I do this for a living. I am a network admin / computer geek. But what the heck it pays the bills. =)
I´ll try that, and let you know if it works:)
if not, I´ll send you the bill :P
