# Computer slow response from harddrive

why is it that everytime i open drive: or a folder it takes a little longer to open?is that a harddrive problem?or memory problem? i have 1gb DDR2 RAM and an Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3600+. any idea what is the problem?
