# Conditional Objects?

Is it possible to have objects on the field conditional upon a variable?  
Example:  
if (variable == 0)  
{  
hide pic.jpg;  
}

I imagine it could be done by making the item invisible with an alpha of 0, but if the item were a button it would still be clickable. Any ideas?
