# Constraining a custom cursor in MX2004

Is there a way in Flash MX 2004 to constrain the area of the custom cursor. So say I wanted a custom Y-axis cursor, but I wanted it to follow my mouse only when I put my mouse in a certain part of the stage. Does anyone know how to do this?
