I did all the steps correctly I think but my objects will not reapear on the left and rotate around like your sample.

If you view it in flash and have your mouse too far to the right, the balls will move too fast for the hitTest to count it and move it back. So it will just blow by the hitTest rectangle and disappear, never to return again. if you export your movie as a .swf (and view at the size of the actual movie) or publish it as a .html file it should work just fine. Unless of course, this isn’t the problem.

I had the same problem and found out it was because I had not converted to symbol twice make sure you do it or the circles will just dissapear
