# Core 2 Duo?

This is probably a really stupid question, but I can’t figure it out. :vamp:

What makes 2.67GHz Core 2 Duo cost $600 and a 3.0 GHz P4 cost under $100?

I thought speed simply came down to clock speed? Am I way off here? Anyone have a simple explanation in layman’s terms?
