# Create a Gradient that spans across shapes 2

I have done this before, but cannot repeat.

If you take the word “Calendar” and break it apart twice so it’s reduced to shapes, how can you apply a gradient that spans across those shapes?

It worked before, but recently it applies the gradient to the individual letters (shapes).
